Airtel Broadband Services Private Limited

Airtel is the brand name under which Bharti Televentures (a Bharti Enterprises company) provides a range of telecommunications services which include Mobile, Landline and Internet services. Prior to embarking on a re-branding strategy in 2004, Bharti Televentures marketed each segment of its business under a different brand - Airtel (Cellular/Mobile), Touchtel (Landlines & Broadband Internet), IndiaOne (Long Distance) and MantraOnline (Internet). But a change in government policy prompted the move towards an amalgamation of all four segments under the flagship brand of Airtel.

The Bharti group is also involved in a joint venture with Singtel to build and operate a submarine fibre optic network between India and Singapore. This incidentally is the world's largest (in terms of bandwidth) submarine cable system with a capacity of 8.4 Tbps.
