Hey,
If you'd like to help out and recommend ISPs for inclusion in the global comparison page, please add a reply below with the following details:
- Country name
- ISP name
- ISP homepage URL
- ISP plan page URL
Please feel free to submit more than one ISP for a country. I will eventually only be including one of them on the page, but it allows for greater reliability.
Also, please make sure that the ISPs being submitted meet the criteria specified on the global comparison page.
Thanks :)

Broadband in Bahrain
Country Name: Bahrain
ISP Name: Batelco (Bahrain Telecommunications)
ISP Homepage: http://www.batelco.com/
ISP Plan URL: http://www.batelco.com/preview.asp?articleid=776
Only one ISP is there. Though i hear Vodafone plans to, but most probably will not because Governmeent controlled Batelco owns all the infrastructure.
Quality of Service is good.(Excellent by Indian standards ;) )
As mentioned in my email,
As mentioned in my email, Batelco do not meet the 256 Kbps upload speed minimum :(
Thanks,
Karthik.
But then
But then you cant include Tata Indicom, Sify or Airtel since they also offer 64,128kbps connections....
Anyway, i thought you can include it because as long as they provide 512kbps connections too, they can be shown (coz, c'mon, you are not gonna showcase the best of the best alone now can you?)
Maybe you can also show how other nations have poor broadband offers!
EDIT: Sorry, got your mail just now.
1)Ok, (All retarded) Indian companies excluded.
2)I was looking at d/l speeds only. silly me.. But when i used it i would get an average of 200kbps, so i think you can add it too (if you like)...
3)No, i'm not hunting for such info ;) just gave you the info from experience..
< 256 Kbps is not broadband.
< 256 Kbps is not broadband. There is no other reason for the exclusion.

OK. I'll see what I can do.
OK. I'll see what I can do. Do you want to list the countries that you want added?
Din.
Sure. The list is at present
Sure. The list is at present missing:
I've included what I believe are the popular ISPs (in the country in question) within brackets.
Countries in Europe etc. are also fine. But I'd like to keep the list representative rather than comprehensive. So everyone might not be added.
Please try to confirm any submissions with somebody who is either a member of the ISP in question or from that country. In other words, please try and pre-validate your submissions.
Also, please make sure that the pre-requisites are met :)
Thanks heaps Din :)

Hong Kong: ISP URL:
Hong Kong:
ISP URL: Netvigator [English]
ISP Plan URL: Service Plans.
Their standard plan appears to be an unlimited 3Mbps/640Kbps plan for ~ Rs.1140. But this includes an 18 month commitment. I'm told this is the most commonly used plan..
One down :)
Din.
