Session issues with multiple installations

Submitted by Karthik on 23 April, 2006 - 13:18

Due to a session fixation patch, a usability bug has been introduced when a user tries to access multiple installations of Drupal on the same box (not necessarily multi-site installations). The user can only stay logged into one site at any point in time as the session ID and the related cookie is regenerated upon login.

... appears to be evangelism. Everybody nowadays is an evangelist evangelising their evangelisms and marketing themselves as such. It used to be that people were labelled as evangelists, but it's now bandied about in the same breath as MCSE, MCP and what not :S It's a bit like the neighbourhood Godman prefixing his name with a few "Shri"s and other honourifics :|

Good evening, I'm Shri Shri Bhagavan Karthik Maharishi Ev. Please leave your footwear at the door.

eek.

The name of this class conflicts with the name of another class that was loaded

Just had this happen (without any valid reason) in F8 with all files on a network server. The fix, atleast in my case, was to make sure that the network server's date/time settings are not ahead of your box :o Like seriously.. this is one inane error!

It was purely by accident that I noticed that the file timestamps were ahead by a couple of minutes (as was the server) ... *sheesh*

Outlook India Spam

"Outlook Traveller Incredible Sri Lanka Offer"

Thus stated the subject line of an e-mail I received at 2:30 a.m this morning. :S I receive this missive all because I signed up on their website a few months ago to view an article. Nowhere did it state then (and I tend to notice these little man-traps), and nowhere does it state now - on the registration form - that signing up to India's premier magazine would also make me eligible for an *Incredible Getaway* to our war ravaged neighbour. But nevertheless, here I am thanks to the wonders of Outlook's groundbreaking opt-out marketing strategy.

Why the dearth of new stories in the last couple of weeks? Too much work and too little time. I have however, spent some time in the last week developing some new stuff for when Drupal 4.7 comes out. I will very likely upgrade quillem.com as soon as it hits RC status :)

.be?

Submitted by Karthik on 4 February, 2006 - 21:31

I've been noticing a number of Indians who use a .be domain for their personal sites - what is up with that?! Bulk discount? :S

And no, they aren't domains in the same vein as del.icio.us either.
